I feel blessed having the opportunity to use my talents and passion for helping others. It is a humbling experience when someone entrusts you with their personal health. It is my privilege helping others improve their overall health, wellness and quality of life.
Why us?
At Dow Medical we understand that every patient is unique, and we believe their medical care should be as well. At Dow Medical our clinic and medical care is centered around the concept of precision medicine. This means taking a customized and holistic approach in providing care specifically tailored to you. This model of care leads to better patient compliance, higher satisfaction, and improved outcomes.
Two common questions we receive from patients are:
- “Why does Dow Medical not accept my insurance?”
- “I already have a primary care physician, how would adding a clinic like this be beneficial?"
Medical care and services offered by traditional clinics and large healthcare corporations are paid through insurance reimbursement. For these traditional clinics to remain operational, they can only offer or provide what insurance will “cover” or pay for. To complicate matters, insurance companies are trending towards covering less and decreasing reimbursement rates. To offset these changes, traditional clinics are increasing the size of their practice and seeing more patients per day. Primary care clinics across the country are averaging between 22-30 patient appointments per day per medical provider!
Current research and new guidelines are showing… to improve someone’s health, overall wellbeing, AND to achieve better patient outcomes requires a comprehensive approach. It requires individualized care that is specific to each patient. This process simply takes time, attention to the details, and no more “one shoe fits all” or “one-drug-fits-all” model. This is where the precision medicine model comes in.
Removing insurance and their reimbursement restrictions from the equation can be a gamechanger. This allows a medical provider or clinic to see less patients per day, which means significantly more time together for the medical provider and patients. It also allows for more time in between appointments to allow the medical care team to implement the plan of care. Removing insurance also allows the medical provider to practice more freely and possibly offer additional medications/treatments once not an option if insurance not covering. Options like nontraditional treatments, off-label or alternative therapies, and medications with speciality compounding could be the missing component to achieving desired results.
